【摘要】:Thistestmethodgivestherubbertechnologisttwomeanstoevaluatetheeffectofliquidsonrubbervulcanizatesorrubberymaterials.Volatile,nonvolatile,andotherliquidsthatrequirepressuretomaintainaliquidstatemaybeused.Dataobtainedonrubberymaterialsexposedtoliquidsbythismethodmaybeusedtopredicttheirbehaviorinapplicationsinvolvingsimilarexposure.Thesechangesinlengthhavebeenfoundtobeusefulforspecificationsbutdonotnecessarilyindicatechangesfordesignpurposes.1.1Thistestmethodcoversatechniquetomeasuretheeffectofimmersionliquidsonrubbervulcanizatesorrubberymaterials.Changeinspecimengeometryanddimensionsareobservedthroughthetransparentwallsofthetubecontainingthespecimenimmersedintheliquid.Althoughitmaybeemployedwithanyliquid,itisespeciallyapplicabletoliquidsthataresovolatilethattheymustbemaintainedunderpressureduringtheperiodofimmersion.1.2ThistestmethoddiffersfromTestMethodD471inthatvolumechangesareapproximatedfromobserveddimensionalchangesratherthanbeingcalculateddirectly.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
