【摘要】:1ThisInternationalStandardspecifiesamethodforthedeterminationofthetensilebreakingforceandelonga-tionatbreakofglassyarnstakenfrompackages.2Themethodisapplicabletovarioustypesofglassyarn(single,folded,cabled,strands,structureswithouttwist,rovings,etc.).Itisbasicallyintendedforsingle,foldedandcabledglassyarnshavingadiameteroflessthan2mm,oralineardensitylowerthan2000tex,takenfrompackages.Heavieryarnsmaybealsotestedprovidingthetestconditionsareacceptabletoallinterestedparties.3Themethodisnotapplicabletoglassyarnswhich,inequilibriumwiththestandardatmosphereandunderapre-tensionof5mN/tex,areelongatedbymorethan0,5%.Suchyarnscanbetestedusingalowerpre-tension(forexample2,5mN/texor1mN/tex),acceptabletoallinterestedparties.Thiswouldoccurmainlywhendealingwithsta-ple-fibreyarns.NOTE1Thoughthedeterminationmayberunonbeamedyarnoronyarnstakenfromfabrics,theresultsmustbeconsideredasindicativeonly.NOTE2Thistestmethodisprimarilyintendedformaterialcharacterizationandqualitycontrol.Fibre-to-fibreabrasionandotherfactorssuchasinsufficientlyuniformtension(catenary)willincreasevariabilityandgeneratelowtestvalues.Thiswillconse-quentlyimpedeaccuratecorrelationbetweenperformanceoftheyarnsandenduseapplications.Extremecareshouldbetakeninconsideringthismethodforspecificationpurposes.NOTE3ThoughthisInternationalStandardprovidesthepossibilityofdeterminingtheelongationatbreak,thispracticeisnotrecommended,however.Indeed,acorrectassessmentoftheelongationwillonlybeobtainedusinganextensometer;itwillnotbeobtainedbymeasuringthedistancetraversedbythemovingclamp.Ontheotherhand,experienceshowsthattheuseofanex-tensometerisquitedelicateandoftencausesdamagetothespecimen.
